A Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Alpert has 27 years experience in pulmonary and sleep medicine, and is currently medical director of the Tritt Breathe and Sleep Center at Atlanta ENT, Sinus & Allergy Associates in Atlanta. He also serves as medical director of National Sleep Dynamics.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 and performed his residency in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University Cincinnati before undertaking another fellowship at Emory University in Pulmonary Medicine.

He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, as well as the subspecialities of pulmonary disease and sleep medicine. He is also a fellow of the College of Chest Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. In addition to being on staff at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, he is also affiliated with Northside Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta.
