Dr. Secosan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emory University before attending Washington University's School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.  He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Barnes Hospital at Washington University.  He joined the hospital's medical staff in 1997. He is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, both Western North Carolina and North Carolina Ophthalmological Societies, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Dr. Secosan's main office is in Brevard, however, he is in his Cashiers office each Thursday and regularly performs surgery at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital.
