Surgery
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital provides general surgery, as well as
specialized surgery in five key areas: hand, orthopedic,
ophthalmology, gastrointestinal and plastic surgery. General surgery
coverage is 24/7 every week of the year and is performed by our
two board certified surgeons from our surgery center in the main
building. Specialized surgery is performed as required; all you need
to do is contact the office of the particular Surgeon and schedule a
visit.
 
Physicians
Every
physician at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is Board Certified. What
does this mean? It means that every one of them must take classes and
tests each year to ensure that they are up to date on all the latest
information in their specialty which is an indication of competence in
their particular area of medicine.
 
Diagnostic Equipment
We have
made it a primary objective to assure that we have the latest in
state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to better assess the extent of
our patients' conditions, so that we can recommend the best available
treatment. In 2010 we will be adding digital mammography, new GI
scopes, and the very latest in CT scanners and nuclear medicine
equipment.
 
Emergency Care
The very
essence of the word 'emergency' indicates that quick attention and
care from only the very best is not only warranted, but demanded. When
you come to our emergency room you will be cared for by a Board
Certified Physician.

Nearly
all of our physicians' offices are right here on the Highland-Cashiers
Hospital campus. It's just like having a large city medical complex
all together in one place right here in your backyard. Thanks to the
generosity of Jane Woodruff, we have the "Jane Woodruff Clinic" where
you can go to see any of our Board Certified Physicians by calling to
make a convenient appointment.
