Every physician at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is Board Certified.
What does that mean? It means that every one of them must take classes
and tests each year to assure that they are up to date on all the
latest information in their specialty which is an indication of
competence in their particular area of medicine. It should also serve
to engender trust in our patients that when you see a physician here,
you can be assured that they are up to date on the latest techniques
and cures for your illness and have to pass oral and written exams to
achieve this important designation every two years!
You might
want to ask the doctors you are seeing now if they are Board Certified
in their specialty. This may not be the case in other hospitals,
including larger institutions, where non board certified physicians or
PA's may be the ones that diagnose and treat you.
