After graduating
with his BA and uncertain of his career path, the High Point native,
Toby Lindsay spent the following years, as he says, “working with his
hands” in the woodworking and cabinet refinishing field. In 1982, with
his career path of medicine now firmly fixed, Toby Lindsay worked
towards his medical degree, graduating from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988. After serving his residency at East
Carolina University and earning the prestigious “Most Outstanding
Resident” award in 1991, Dr. Lindsay began his work as a family
practitioner in Brevard, NC.
After 14 years in
family practice, Dr. Lindsay relocated to Cashiers in 2005 to open his
medical practice. In addition to his private medical practice, Dr.
Lindsay began his first association with Highlands-Cashiers Hospital,
working part-time as an emergency room physician. Today, in addition
to his emergency room work, Dr. Lindsay also serves as one of the
hospital’s primary care physicians. “Working at Highlands- Cashiers
Hospital with the state-of-the-art equipment available to me, top
notch physician colleagues and excellent nurses gives me all the tools
necessary to provide the best possible healthcare to my patients,”
said Dr. Lindsay.
Apart from spending his free time
with his family, Dr. Lindsay likes traveling, biking and hiking the
trails of Western North Carolina.
